Magnify
Brand :: Live Event
Bethel Music
The brand theme for the 2017 live event of WorshipU On Campus was “Magnify”. The theme centered around the idea from Psalm 19:1 that creation declares God's magnificence. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.”
Leaning into that concept, we focused in on arial shots that showed patterns in nature, grand landscapes, and naturally occurring neon colors (along with some filters) to draw this parallel between creation and magnificence.
The photography generally leaned more abstract, with a ‘cross-stitching’ of different patterns to tie together a cohesive brand theme. See how we moved from art direction, to promotions, to event installations like banners and stage visuals - maintaining beauty and variety.
Mood Board
The art direction that we landed on incorporated a mix of tight macro shots alongside sweeping arial and wide shots - all in an effort to show patterns, contrast, color, and interesting shapes that occur in nature; intending to highlight how these instances in creation “Magnify” the creator.
Videos
Video was a part of our pre-launch promotional strategy, as well as on-stage visuals during music performances. The videos carried through the art direction in a fresh and complimentary way - published to social media and event promotional pages. We wrote, produced, and edited all videos in-house. On-stage video shots can be seen in the still images further down.
Banners
Every classroom and public space had large 2x5 stand up banners printed to continue to reinforce the messaging and the visual identity of MAGNIFY. Banner imagery was tied in with badge, slides, stage, and digital imagery.
Badges
MAGNIFY theme and imagery was carried through all instructor, volunteer, and student badges.
Booklet
All students received a notebook with instructor bios, schedule of events, map, and branded layouts to reinforce the theme: MAGNIFY.
Merch
MAGNIFY theme and imagery was seen in coffee cups, posters, tee shirts, badges, banners, etc. We created as many opportunities to engage with the brand theme as possible.
Slides
Every classroom was equipped with a TV screen for instructors to present from - slides were provided as screensavers and stage visuals to carry through the brand in the “in between” moments throughout the event.
Stage
The point of any large event is what happens on the main stage. Here, we carried both the square/rectangular elements of the art direction, along with the patterns and colors into the stage visuals - crafting a seamless event experience.
Social
Bringing the MAGNIFY brand elements into the broader WORSHIPU brand created some challenges for social media art direction. However, you can see how we brought the 2 disparate brand identities together in graphics.
